The Inspiration Behind Pillars of Purity
 
At Higher Ground, we share the hopeful desire that David expressed in this Psalm for young women to be like graceful pillars, carved to beautify a palace.
 
As the great reformer Matthew Henry explains,
 
   "When our daughters are graceful and beautiful both in body and mind  
    they are then polished after the likeness of a beautiful palace. When we see 
    our daughters well-established and stayed with wisdom and discretion, as
    cornerstones are fastened in the building - when we see them by faith united
    to Christ, as the chief cornerstone, adorned with the graces of God's Spirit,
    which are the polishing of that which is naturally rough, and become women
    professing godliness - when we see them purified and consecrated to God as
    living temples, we think ourselves happy in them."
 
 
Three Goals of This Ministry
 
To disciple young women ages 3 and up in
DOCTRINE, CHARACTER AND MINISTRY
 
 
1) Discipling in DOCTRINE
    To teach the younger women to be doctrinally sound in a clear and
    biblical manner.
 
2) Discipling in CHARACTER
    To teach the younger women about specific Godly character qualities she is
    to develop.
 
3) Discipling in MINISTRY
    To teach and train the younger women to serve the Lord Jesus Christ in some
    sort of ministry to her family, church or friends.  This involves discovering,
    encouraging and developing her spiritual gifts to serve God's kingdom.
 
 
What We Offer
 
A variety of programs for young women are offered that include but are not limited to:
 
†  Bible Studies
† Book & Article Discussions
† Fellowships & Sleepovers
†  Service Projects within the church and community
 
We also work with "Foundations for Life," a program within the Women's Ministry which aims to train up the younger women according to Titus 2:3-5.
